If any Republican tries to tell you Dems are to blame for this, just look at who’s being sued.

And he will just ignore this order like he’s done with so many others.

    3. As if this regime is going to adhere to any court order they don’t agree with.

judge: „you’re not allowed to let poor people starve“

      gop: „oh shucks!“

So how this plays out will be interesting.

Does TheRump and Micky Mouse Johnson, directly defy a Federal ruling?

If the payments are still halted, no blaming of this on the Dems will work.

👏👏👏 glad to see this. I know the emergency fund isn’t enough to cover the loss for the entire month— but something is better than nothing.

      > The lawyer, Tyler Becker, also argued it was the administration’s discretion whether to use $6 billion in contingency funds already set aside by Congress to continue issuing SNAP benefits.

Oh so they admit it was the Trump Admin who decided to not fund SNAP. Good — glad we got that on record

did the trump admin again say the quiet part out loud?

      >A Justice department lawyer argued during a hearing that the **SNAP program did not exist anymore** because there were no congressionally appropriated funds for it as a result of the shutdown.

Who’s gonna enforce this? It needs to be but I don’t see it happening.

    9. I don’t see anyone in this administration or in this congress complying with the order. The constitution failed to give the courts any kind of military capacity to enforce its rulings,

The Trump administration’s lawyer went before a judge and said that the reason they’re not going to be funded is because the administration is choosing not to.

Say it louder for the people in the back!

Trump has already begun deporting American citizens, starving the poor is a political move.

    12. TobioOkuma1 on

They literally have money appropriated for this kind of situation and the trump admin is refusing to use it. The gop is just willingly going to starve American people. Cruelty is the point.

98% i’m glad this got fixed

2% i’m sad, because i thought this outrage was what would finally end him

    14. And when he doesn’t comply, an appeals court will declare he can starve people „for now“, then the SCOTUS will declare via shadow docket that he can do whatever he wants. Again.

    15. throwaway281409 on

Miller and Vought will never release funds for SNAP benefits. They would rather hurt people.

    16. Dapper-Sandwich3790 on

How many MAGA states joined this lawsuit ?

Maybe MAGA will decide to boycott their SNAP benefits and own the libs.

    17. HorrorOk1304 on

SNAP was previously paid out during other shutdowns.

If the states front the money, the Feds say they won’t reimburse them once CR is passed.

If they appeal this decision, they might as well just say that they hate the poor.

    18. ProcusteanBedz on

Attempting to starve citizens when there were significant funds meant specifically for this and others easily assessable will go down as one of the most shameful acts by any administration in American history.

    19. He’ll run to ~~his bought and paid for judges~~ the Supreme Court whining and demand an overturn.

    20. I am sure he will listen to them… I mean what are they going to do if he doesn’t.

    21. RoyalGovernment201 on

Trump desperately wanted to end SNAP benefits in order to create civil unrest so that he could declare a national emergency in a bid to stay in power. He’s so desperate to escape justice that he will rape, murder, and pillage every resource available to him. He is not fit to be President, let alone be on this earth.

The administration is fighting to protect food insecurity.

This is sick. Even for them.

    23. HuTaosTwinTails on

They don’t give a shit. They want people to die, suffer and starve.

    24. Well they didn’t continue for me and my 91 yr old Mom today. Im 8 spine surgeries in..disabled for past 6 yrs. My partner who lost his job and I had to relocate to help and afford to live. So now w 91 yr old mom.

    25. tucker_case on

So the administration was choosing to cut benefits. It wasn’t a consequence forced upon the admin by the shutdown. Hmm how interesting.

I hope all those red state recipients are paying attention.

    26. Sublimotion on

Can you imagine Trump admin being cruel enough to appeal this, and there will be appellate judges cruel enough to reverse the ruling? Or the conservative SC judges cruel enough to overturn it?

    27. yngwiegiles on

This judge has done more good for the US people than any politician. Even the people who want to starve and die for spite

    28. „Trump administration loses in court after arguing it has the right to starve Americans.“

    29. Sharp-Calligrapher70 on

Look at this activist judge telling the administration to follow the law.
