    1. What was actually said.

„The increase in pressure and the escalation that’s taken place is the only way to force Maduro to understand that it’s time to go,“ and „facilitate a peaceful and orderly transition,“ Machado told Bloomberg.

For people criticizing her… Imagine living most of your life under a dictatorship, seeing the results of an election being literally rigged, without any perspective of a change at all, imagine seeing your people being murdered in front of you, having to hide to not be killed. And then you are already starting to become old, and there is nothing else to be done, you will likely die in the same situation you are now. You would support ANYTHING to remove Maduro from power.

War in Latin America with the US involved. This is very, very bad news.

I know literally nothing about Venezuela. Is their leader a bad leader or not?

Of course cause she wants power. Sure current gov there is bad but she doesn’t not seem genuine to wanting what’s best.

Well anyone could say the same for Trump.  Doesn’t make it right.

    8. History has very few peaceful revolutions where authoritarians voluntarily give up power.

    9. Did the irony lost on them? The „Peace prize“ winner literally calling for the US military to invade her own country… maybe Nobel should rename their prize to War prize.

    10. She’s just waiting for Trump to remove Maduro, and put her in his place. She’s just better at lying than Trump is, being an idiot.

    11. Should the Nobel Prize be rescinded?!

It feels like shes not peaceful . At all!!

Ah, yes, the woman who asked the genocide state of Israel to invade her country and got a *peace prize*

Wish instead of asking the US the opposition should be looking towards regional allies, but of course we’re expected to do the heavy lifting.

I’ve lost all respect for the nobel peace prize back when Yasser Arafat received it. It means nothing now.

    15. She’s always been of this opinion, which is why there was some controversy around her award. I’m pretty sure the folks that normally host the award ceremonies refused to do it for her because they felt it would compromise their values.

    16. Regardless, Venezuela will be indebted to the US for a long time and their oil will be owned by the US.

      Shades of Iraq.

Crazy how everybody says we need to stop being the world police, yet Biden’s honeymoon phase was ended by our withdrawal from Afghanistan and now it seems like the “no new wars” crowd is salivating at the idea of new wars.

Apparently sovereignty only has value to the rule based world when the country is aligned with them.

    19. Yeah, wear that peace prize proudly as you campaign for more death and destruction. You didn’t win the peace prize for creating a violent insurgency.

Nobel Peace Prize was just given out in support of a war of aggression that is about to be launched.

    21. Military escalation is precisely the solution you expect from a Nobel PEACE Prize winner.

    22. When an anti socialist wants **another** country’s military to fight her battles. Why can’t her fellow anti socialists just pull themselves up by their bootstraps?

    23. Reddit was so relieved she won the Nobel prize instead of Trump, having never heard her name before. Maria Machado is a hardcore conservative, very close ally/friend of Trump and his family and a regular on Don Jr. podcast.

    24. Ah yes, she wants to outs Maduro with the help of the Pentagon and set up a puppet government. Is this your democracy, Nobel laureate?

    25. letsridetheworld on

Yes, I agree. But if the USA is involved I feel like it’s bad news all over.

We don’t have a good record with what comes after the coup lol.

    26. She not wrong

He not getting out peacefully and he seems to be in Control of The Army ,so Coups arent happening anytime time soon
