It’s weird to see who gets chosen to have a lasting legacy. I would say that Journey and Bon Jovi both have an oversized legacy compared to their presence on the charts back in the day. Then, acts like Phil Collins and Leonel Richie seem completely forgotten.

Reckless is a *really* good album. One of the things I like about Bryan Adams is that he’s not too ubiquitous and isn’t trading on ’80s nostalgia to hog the spotlight.

It’s bc of how we were bombarded with the Robin Hood song every 5 minutes.

Do you think people give him shit because they mix him up with Ryan Adams?

He became the „Big Movie End Credits Guy“. It got so overblown and samey and vanilla. Nobody is out cranking Everything I Do“ anymore because it’s dated and cliched and corny. After his debut, he never had a rocking hit again. Only hair metal power ballads but wimpier.

Happened to others in the era. Kenny Loggins died when the big movie theme stopped. Aerosmith milked another 5 years out of the Armageddon soundtrack.

He stopped making music after that horrible Robin Hood song was released.

Shine and light shine a light shine a light…. Makes my ears bleed.

    7. Bryan Adams (to me) had a solid “rock” career that he abandoned to make sappy love songs because that’s where the money was. I don’t fault him for it, I am sure it was lucrative. That said, don’t bitch later about not being accepted in “rock” circles.

He was seen by my dad when he played “have you ever really loved a women” the entire time we drove from la to san Francisco when i was in 8th grade lol

I sometimes wonder if there are any musicians who look back on their entire career with douche chills. I would’ve put Adams in the 10 most likely, but I guess I overestimated him.

That’s because you sued people who wrote about you, dude. It’s like you take you car into the shop and the mechanic pulls a you out of the air filter and says “there’s your problem.”

    11. I mean his career started off pretty solid and then he just became like a hallmark Bruce Spirngsteen.

Man I don’t know him from anything but the Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron OST but that was straight banger after banger.

I was at the opening show for his latest tour! It was awesome! I was also at his show in 2023 and he hasn’t lost a step! He doesn’t need to be invited, everyone knows his songs and he’s enjoying his life!

Just recently I couldn’t stop playing “Can’t Stop This Thing We Started.” He’s written a ton of great songs, alone and with numerous artists. He’s great.

    15. I may be only 27 but I saw Bryan Adams at the meadowlands in 85 and it was badass !!

That’s because he’s a racist weenie. Covid showed us the truth about him.

His stance on covid also may have something to why he feels ostracized

One of my favorite vocalists. His voice is so damn good. It’s got the perfect rasp to it.

Just took my wife and kids to see him live in Vancouver. Such an amazing talent and showman! Canadian legend.

His new songs are awful, extremely generic. He’s past his prime and was never really that influential.
