GDP: Total value of products produced in a single year.
Market cap: Investors’ expectations of a company’s total future assets and profits.
It makes no sense to compare these two

Oh why has the world become so greedy! No country should ever be richer than the world average in the year 1500. Shame on America and China. Filthy countries!

NVIDIA is richer than the whole world, except for China, and USA.
The latter nation being where its market cap directly contributes to, so of course, USA has a GDP higher than NVIDIA’s market cap.
Very unequal world that we live in.

It makes absolutely no sense to compare GDP, which is annual output, to market cap.
GDP is closer to annual revenue, and I don’t even know how to compare market cap to a country. Perhaps the sum of all mineral deposits + NPV of real GDP * the average multiple of its main stock exchange?
