The fact that Obama care needs to be subsidized proves that it doesn’t bring cost down. That was what we were initially told it would do.
I, for one, from my anecdotal evidence can vouch that ACA is complete shit. I needed to apply for it in 2014, $0 income $0 everything and the best deal was about $900/month for a 15k deductible plan.
Yes, I understand that I should have applied for Medicaid instead but my point still stands. ACA is neither affordable, nor healthcare due to its insane deductible
Just got to review our health care open enrollment options today. Needless to say the whole family is going uninsured next year. Fuck this shit. 15k in a year for insurance. We’ll just put it in savings instead
My biggest problem is they used cutting it to put 3x the tax cuts, where the CBO predicts 92% of the benefit goes to the 1%.
It also demonstrated why flat tax fails.
Megacorps pulling in massive bucks went from 39% to 21%.
Small businesses had a rate hike. The lowest bracket was 15%, they now had to pay 21%.
All at a cost of loss of revenue 3x the cost.
Which means the rich and corps have more money to buy out properties.
Which means there is more money in circulation.
Which means the US has to borrow more money, devaluing your money.
I’d rather poor folks have more medical insurance than the 1% screwing us over even more.
The point of raising interest rates is to pull money out of the economy to lower inflation. When we can simply not take money from poor folks medical insurance to give more money to the 1%.
Ok, yes, let’s replace it with Medicare for all!
They are not here to help us. They are here to keep us poor. We need to dismantle the whole system. Why are they getting paid while poor people will soon be starving?.

You can blame a lot on Trump but democrats wrote these enhanced ACA subsidies to expire in 3 years despite the fact that they had both houses of Congress and the presidency when they passed the ARP and IRA that extended the enhanced subsidies. They did this to themselves.
Prices are not going to rise. They are going to revert back to pre Covid rates. The subsidies that are in place were never meant to be permanent and are set to expire soon. ACA sucks. It sucked before Trump and it’ll suck long after Trump.
Yay for Obama care, pay $150 a month for insurance you’ll never be able to use because of the $7000 deductible. Glad it helps everyone but the working poor tho.

It simply does not renew the subsidies that fooled people into thinking it would be cheap. The democrats put the end date on the subsidies.

Trump didn’t raise rates. Obamacare just pushed out the subsidy timeline so they would expire after he was out of office. This was his deal.
My healthcare provider sent me a letter specifically saying the rate increase was due to the big beautiful bill and then said the administration is cutting subsidies
