Why is it always Nolan?!?!?
There’s a few reasons. He gets bad cases, but not the worst. So assaults, not murders. His court gets defendants caught with CP, not those who abused kids.
So his court goes through a lot of these types of cases. Then there’s the mitigating factors and sentencing guidelines he’s obliged to follow which often play a big role in these levels of crimes. There’s nuance all over this.
Worth listening to this IT podcast discussing and explaining why it seems like it’s always Nolan.
Ignore the judge for a min read the details of case

2 years for attempted murder, he was hardly trying to tickle them or something.
2 years for taking money out the pocket of corporation who gouge you to watch sport for lads who sell dodgy boxes
I know which one I’m more worried about

I know someone from my time in prison abroad.. that got 4 weeks in prison for screaming down the phone at a social worker..
Also.. *he got discharged from the army for dislocating his knee* absolute bollocks… I guarantee he was caught in a random drug test and got discharged..

So in 2 years, probably less, there will be a violent criminal who tried to murder someone on the streets again, nice!

I can see there’s the possible view that this is specific to these 2 people so not a threat to others but you’d have to wonder what else was in the background to make that really believable. Because even reading the article it sounds like there was some level of trigger to take it way beyond messing.

At what point does the government just go „well jail isn’t working so we’re going to scrap it“ two years of hot meals and a bed then back to crime no doubt

His army training was a mitigating factor? Fucking Nolan.
