A good scam for those who run it. Our time is short here and whilst some die for a short time and come back when the silver cord is severed between body and soul there is no returning.

They might wake up in a future unlike our own… With different rules of law, consent they might not even have legal right to there own body\person, maybe they put them into a robot body and are in constant pain\suffering or are being used in experiments … best case scenario you wake up and everybody you know is gone, you dont understand anything or the language, you dont have super hyper genes as everybody is a test tube super human in the future with perfect genetics and you live forever as a ugly ass caveman from thousands of years ago working shit work for pennies while all these super human god like beings treat you like a animal from the zoo.

It won’t happen in our lifetimes. You still get long term damage even when your metabolism is that slow, from the cold itself. Physiologically, “waking up” could cause irreversible damage to your body, I’d assume you’d have to “warm them up” a specific way to ensure normal homeostasis. I’m sure we’ll see some attempts to wake these people up in our lifetimes, maybe even successful ones, but there’s a caveat.
I wouldn’t see a reason too for most..we haven’t cured any major diseases outright since the invention of this technology. We first have to make sure these people can even survive being woken up and physiological systems are operating normally then we have to make sure that they can actually respond to the drug we’ve created to cure them, then we have to hope their broken physiologic systems can somehow use the cure if at all possible.
This is going to take decades of longitudinal research, a larger sample size for “trial and error”, a fuck ton of scientific studies, even more validating studies, then we would have to mass produce the methods and technology to drive the cost down (at first this would only be usable for the weathlyextremely wealthy like it currently is).
Here’s the catch, if we can already cure the disease, I can absolutely see us just being like why are we worrying about dead people when the living can already benefit from it. You’ll see division between people with dying/cryofrozen relatives and friends, those just wanting the cures from themselves, then those skeptical of the whole thing (like how some people don’t like AI).
It’ll mix religion (bc keeping people alive “against their will” could be though of keeping them out of a heavan type place”), government (who can afford it and who’s eligible to receive treatment) and ethics (due to cost, should I revive grandma or my 8 year old I lost 20 years ago first?).

I think good luck to them. Too bad if the freezing system breaks down I suppose, otherwise they’d be unfrozen – defrosted, you might say.

Eh, I don’t think we’re quite near a point where cryogenically freezing people, meant to be revived in the same state, is anywhere near practical.
Realistically, at this rate, I think their best bet is “being uploaded” once that technology reaches
I think we’ll be more likely to reach that point first before freezing and reviving people
A lot of them are old rich guys, I’m not really sure what the point is for them. I get the idea of freezing younger able bodied people for space travel or something like that. Though I think some of the liquid/womb style ideas may be more fit for that.

Whenever they are taken out of the capsule they literally become sludge. When they are dead, they are dead forever. Sure we have the technology to freeze and revive embryos, but a person developed past the fetal stage is so biologically complex that I don’t see it working anytime soon. The fact that they are dead even complicates revival further.
I feel that probably a little past our lifetimes we will find a way to freeze living humans as a means of extending lifespan by essentially „suspending“ cell activity. Of course it would start out as something that the middle class won’t be able to afford and only rich people would have access. But freezing someone who is already gone is either impossible or these companies will be long defunct by the time we get to that point.

No part of this would be worth it to me. Only way it’d make sense is if you went to sleep poor and woke up rich, but the dollar loses value so without contributing to anything, your gains would need to be exceptional. Plus, how the hell are you gonna work? Nothing you knew would be relevant anymore, so you’re broke, you’re dumb, no one’s gonna hire you, and the gov sure as hell doesn’t give two shits about you. You might get lucky to get paid for being poked and prodded but every scenario I can think of sounds terrible.
