To be clear, those are two separate gifts – the Silla gold crown is not a typical part of „South Korea’s highest honor“, which is the Grand Order of Mugunghwa.

I don’t think any other US president would be willing to accept a crown as a gift just because of the optics, but we all know Trump’s desire to be a despot.

    2. Dr. Farnsworth: “Ah, what the heck…. I hereby promote you to executive delivery boy!”

      Fry: “Executive?”

Hermes (to Leela): “It is a meaningless title, but it helps insecure people feel better about themselves.”

Fry: “I feel better about myself!”

    3. South Korea just takes the shortest route to what they want. They play a fool like Trump like a fiddle.

It’s really telling that you can pacify a leader of the most powerful country on earth like a toddler by giving him a fake gold crown

      >to acknowledge Trump’s achievement in advancing peace on the Korean Peninsula

      What did he do?

    6. The entire world knows Trump is susceptible to flattery and wealth, but giving him a crown will only encourage his belief that he is a king, which is sickening.

    7. There is something seriously wrong with the leaders of the world 🤦🏻‍♂️

“Mr. Korea gave me an honor, and many people say it’s the highest honor. I call it the Silver gold crown. Not many people know that. It’s a word that’s old fashioned. The Sellum crown. Maybe I’ll put the Selleck crown in the Oval, nailed to the front of the Red Dead Desk, a desk that was neglected for many years until I had it restored and used a firehose full of gold to spray all over the Oval. Some are calling it the Golden Shower.”

    9. A gold crown? Just imagine how much more trump could have gotten if his ICE didn’t arrest and kick out all those skilled Korean technicians trying to train Americans for jobs with their battery tech!

They will get billions in return.
      Exaggerated compliments are worth millions.
Every leader throughout the world knows this .

I would call him a puppet but, those are way harder to manipulate than him.

If they gave it to Trump, its no longer Koreas highest honor , Its now just a participation prize for assholes.

Other countries have found the path of least resistance is to give Trump something his ego can appreciate. That’s it, that’s the whole of it.

Does Trump get to keep that gold crown or is it considered as a gift and treated as a US federal property?

I really hope he’ll be wearing that crown as he steps out of the plane when he return to the US.

More prizes for participation. Trumps ego is so big that everyone panders to it and they stroke it so they can manipulate him into agreeing to whatever they want.

    17. Probably will not sit well with some Koreans givem how much of a fluffer he is for Kim Jong Un

what the hell are these countries pandering to a corrupt president, who already believes he is king in everything in America as it is now, but to give this dictator a gold crown for God’s sake, it will only spur on Trump’s ego even bigger, and he will believe that he’s king of the whole world. He has already claimed to have won seven wars since taking office.

Anyone dealing with the U.S., „Give Trump something gold and he will give you military secrets!!“

If you can buy actual benefits for your country with cheap meaningless trinkets – why not?

Everyone knows by now Trump is an actual fucking idiot who likes shiny things and flattery – and both are cheap.

Jesus Christ guys. This shit enables his narcissism and other psychopathology

I mean, when you have a crying baby sometimes the quickest way to stop the crying is by shoving a pacifier in their mouth.

The leaders of the rest of the world have this clown’s number.

    24. This will only temporarily appease him. Next time they’ll have to throw underage K-pop girls at him.

    25. Alternate headline: ‘South Korea knows that if you stroke Trump’s ego enough, he will roll over’
