And yet… dictators are waging war, countries (and corporations) are going full send with pollution, and people be fucking beyond their means.

This is actually a good sign.
Similar to when the body has an infection and you get a fever, the earth has been overtaken by humans as a destructive cancerous type of life form.
If we can get to 5- 6 degrees Celsius above baseline, this will make large parts of the world desert where humans can’t readily live, this along with societal collapse, I’m hoping for an 80% reduction in infestation.

I wonder if the last action of humanity will be nations launching bunker busters on each other’s wealthiest and governmental bunkers in a last ditch effort to ensure mutually assured destruction is all but guaranteed.
It’s so stupid that there are people so scared of an imperceptible loss of personal wealth that they would charge headlong into a scenario where the only survivable option is to spend the rest of theirs and their families known lives living in an underground prison of their own making.
The article is just bringing up how bad it’s gotten, listing events that have been devastating. I don’t see any studies involved in this. Its a warning that our issues need to be mitigated.
If we stopped measuring these things, we wouldn’t have any problems.

Sorting out garbage is nice, but the largest pollution and CO2 disaster are coming from big industries, for instance chemical production industry: pesticides, herbicides, industrial chemicals for manufacturing, etc
