> For the Girls alum, the answer is two-fold. „First, the theater kid energy is triggering for a lot of people. There’s a reason I don’t sing regularly,“ Williams said. „I get to do it once a decade without it becoming too annoying.“

There’s something I don’t like about her. I only saw bits and pieces of Girls but Marnie was the worst and perhaps it’s carried over.

She has played a variety of detestable characters very well like Marnie from Girls and Rose from Get Out.
If anything, its a compliment to her performances.

She’s married to Alexander Dreymon, she doesn’t need anyone else to like her. I wouldn’t either.

Between this and Jennifer Lawrence, I’m so tired of women in the public eye having to efface themselves and justify the vitriol spewed at them
She doesn’t need us to like her. She is winning. And once she gets this, the world is her oyster.

if she wasn’t someone’s daughter no one would have ever cast her.
no one wants to root for someone who didn’t have to work as hard as their peers to get where they are.
she’s fine as an actress. the thing is that a lot of people who weren’t born into privilege like her would be just as ‚fine‘ and/or better and every rich/famous person’s kid who gets jobs is another non rich/famous person’s kid who doesn’t get the job.

Why are people so obsessed with getting celebs to admit their privilege? Like, any actor who has a relative in the industry now has to release a statement acknowledging their privilege? Who cares?

I had a huge crush on her when I first saw her.

I think she is extremely talented, and doesn’t need to apologize.

I recently discovered the awesome and hilarious Girls. I find her career arc perplexing after watching it for a few seasons. It seems like people identify her with Marnie. Was she just playing a version of herself? The idea of casting her in the White Lotus seems perfect.

Side note: [Loved her singing the Mad Men theme](https://youtu.be/OEj0z0maxzM?si=eu60HpzDwMhEJX-z)
My ex looks like her. That’s enough for me.
