Dies ist ein offener Appell, den Tonbandschatz, der durch den obligatorischen Schwedischunterricht an finnischen Schulen entstanden ist, zu bewahren und kostenlos zu verteilen. Es muss allen Völkern der Welt zugänglich gemacht werden!
Diese Offenbarung erhielt ich an einem anderen Tag hier auf Reddit, als ein Este fragte, wo man „finlandssvenska“ lernen könne; Er möchte es lernen, um mit seiner Freundin und ihrer suekophonen Familie aus Südfinnland Mumin sprechen zu können. Warten Sie eine Minute! Wer hat gesagt, dass es kaum Kurse oder Apps gibt, um speziell Finnlandschwedisch zu lernen? Verdammt ja, tatsächlich gibt es sie umfangreiche pädagogische Ressourcen! Man muss sie nur finden.
Ab der siebten Klasse hörten wir während der gesamten finnischen Schule für jedes Kapitel unseres schwedischen Lehrbuchs eine Tonbandkassette. Fast alle Kapitel spielten in Finnland und die Erzähler/Synchronsprecher waren schwedischsprachige Finnen. Jeder Verlag hatte seine eigene, konkurrierende Lehrbuchreihe mit Tonband und Arbeitsheft, die er an die Schulen drängte. Ah, zu jedem Kapitel gab es auch ein wunderbares Glossar!
Ein einzelner Lernender sollte irgendwie in der Lage sein, solche Lernmaterialien von irgendwoher zu bekommen. Jede Menge Högsvenska wartet auf die Welt. Damals, noch in den frühen 90ern, waren diese Bänder noch nicht einmal Kassetten, sondern riesige Spulen. Ich vermute, dass sie irgendwann durch CDs und dann durch Audiodateien ersetzt wurden.

What has happened to all this audio material? Is it still protected by copyright? I hope not. It shouldn’t be. The publishing houses were shovelling taxpayer money with those tapes. Now they should give them back to Finland and to the world, or, at least, sell the rights for a reasonably low price. Pohjola-Norden, Nätverket Svenskanu.fi, and so on, should be interested in getting the material released.
I used to think that there was something wrong with the curricula in our schools. Lots of skilled teachers, but very few pupils learned Swedish, actually. No no! I was completely wrong. Or, I mean, in reality we had luxurious pedagogical stuff. It was just that most students were not motivated.

Now the situation has changed. Due to KAJ (and due to bunches of other good reasons), there is an urge for finlanssvenska everywhere. Well, these tapes are mostly högsvenska (Moomin Swedish), maybe with a little taste sample of some exotic dialect occasionally. But anyway—the time has come! We Finns should not be shy about this. The Swedish language is an inseparable part of our cultural heritage. It is also our other national language. If we want to teach the world to speak Swedish the Moomin, the Närpes, or the Sibbo way, we do it. No need to excuse or ask for permit. The Swedish pitch accent is overrated. I mean, it has nothing to do with intelligibility. Everyone in the world who wants to or has to learn Swedish by any reason, is allowed to pick up Finland Swedish as well as a Sveamamma variant.
More importantly, “Summer on the rocks” better make it to all the studentnationerna’s repertoire
i remember max 10 swedish words from studying it for 5 years in school. and i’ve never needed any swedish since i finished school
I remember this. That song did not even have a backing track, the voice actor just adlibbed it and yes, it was gringeworthy even in the 90ies.

Maybe in some small town divari these could still be found. Probably on many many attics.
