The unsaid part of „they’re assaulting our women!“ is „They’re OUR women to assault. Not theirs.“
I’ve been asking this for years. Ive come to understand that rape and child abuse are only a problem when it’s a foreigner doing it.
Too busy assaulting women to riot
Considering some of the so-called patriots have convictions for assaults themselves, it’s called accountability blindness
Ah, but you see, they could have known or gone to school with or be related to or know someone related to or be in work with someone who’s related to or knows someone who’s done something like that and you know yourself, they don’t want to cause a fuss cuz it’s not their business and all. [sarcasm implied here. This upsets me too. No matter WHO does it, it’s wrong all the same].

I think Kathy misses the point here. All these protests are a manifestation of a much deeper issue around a loss of place. Ireland didn’t suddenly become a racist country nor have those groups she’s identified. 5 to 10 years ago they’d have all been on her side. What these people will tell you is that X place isn’t like what it was when they grew up and they don’t like it.
We all know they don’t truly care about women or the children and abuse but they also know that the establishment doesn’t care about their issue either. It’s reaching for something that they do care about and tying their issues to it. It hardly needs to be restated. This is campaigning 101 and it’s hardly something any activist needs a lesson on.
If all the asylum seekers were made up of just white people with the exact same mentality as the Burke family in Mayo and they didn’t say all that much would that be acceptable to left wing Ireland? What if they kept on having kids and raising them with the exact set of beliefs?

Maybe they feel they’ve earned the right by living here, maybe it was never about the assaults, maybe everyone is too busy arguing about who to blame to realise the Gardaí don’t have a clue what they’re doing and our government are robbing us blind whilst distracting the people with bull
One group has a right of citizenship to be here, one is here due to our good grace – we took them in so they should behave themselves. This whole act of pretending not to know basic common sense is getting pretty tired and just comes across as a tactic of pure desperation – Pravda level shit.

If you crossed referenced the attendees of these wannabe klan meetings with the domestic violence registry, it’ll just be the same list.
The common deflection is „we shouldn’t be importing more criminals“ when we already have our own.
On the surface nobody would disagree with that.
Yet when our criminals who really shouldn’t be on the streets, walking around on another suspended sentence, commit crime there are crickets from that crowd, no protests, no tweeting, nothing.
They don’t care about women or children. They only care because a foreigner did it.
If it was really about protecting women and children, for starters there wouldn’t be a single church left standing in Ireland.
If a foreigner commits a crime in Ireland then they judge all foreigners as being complicit, that’s racism.
Because their protests are based on racism and ignorance and these crimes are just an excuse to express that. And an excuse to destroy property and attack Gardai.
Because this isn’t about protecting women, it’s about racism and intolerance towards anyone they can blame for their own personal failings in life.
You mean when Irish men and woman are the ones carrying out assaults.
The far right also accuse immigrants of being violent, when they (the far right) are the ones with a track record of criminal convictions a mile long who are attacking cops and burning vehicles. They also accuse immigrants of being a drain on society, when they’ve spent their entire lives on the doles. It’s almost as if they’re complete hypocrites with no legitimate cause for complaint except a desire to cause trouble.
This point is made every single time a non-Irish person assaults someone. It’s nearly always the top comment on here.
In fact, the point is made so often that it reads to me as whataboutism to try distract from issues.
Yes, we clearly have enough of our own scumbags here, so the question is, do we want more?!
Not to take sides here, but not allowing rapists into the country without knowing their background constitutes preventative crime no?

Systematic sexual and physical abuse was covered up by the church in Ireland and elsewhere. These people bring their children to mass and to get baptised and give money to the very organisation that they KNOW protected child abusers. It’s not about the children.
I guess it’s a trade off between the states „obligations“ and the chance that people coming in are going to go on and commit crimes. Since we already have a lot of criminals here with little to no punishment.
What is the tolerance level for someone coming here under the states protection and commiting crimes?
Also there was protests when Cathal Crotty got a ridiculous suspended sentence.
You can’t be protesting against assaulting women and assaulting women at the same time. Multitasking isn’t a common skill among these people. Most of them can’t even manage multiple thoughts.
What I find disgusting also is these patriots and a unnamed counsellor brought kids to the protest holding she was only 10 posters. The kids of this counsellor are all under 10 years old. This protest was never about protecting the children, it was always about racism. How many Irish cases perpetrated by Irish men? Where was the outrage, the protests? I won’t even mention this counsellor‘s name. Initially running on an Irish Freedom party platform then independent.
I’ve come to realize that these racist garbage people don’t want to protect women & children , they just want to keep their access to them exclusive .
