These Swedish jets are just what Ukraine needs to turn the tide and win the war. They are perfectly designed with all the capabilities that Ukraine needs to take back their own airspace.
Ideally their role is to defend a free Ukraine and deter any future Russian aggression.
But this gives more production volume to European planes, keeps more money and tech in Europe and provides the potential to gain combat experience and testing in a European ground war in addition to the opportunities it provides to the Ukrainians.
Do you think it’s hard for Putin to come to terms with losing a war while being a nuclear power ?

Ok. So we have had Javelins, HIMARS, Abrams, Leopards and F-16s. How are Gripens going to win the war? Ukraine is running out of fighting men not weapons. As hard as it is to stomach, we may have to accept that the war against Russia is lost unless NATO officially intervenes.
Headline is clickbate.
This is an order for Gripen Es that will be delivered in **10-15 years**. It’s not Sweden sending over a bunch of its old C/D models.

I don’t see that they bring much more than what the F16 and Mirage already offer…the issue is the very long range of modern AD and the fact these jets are not stealth at all meaning they have to be kept low, and well back from the line.
