The corrupt bosses are corrupt???? are you telling me the people getting the tv licence money and advertising money are greedy??????

Next you are going to tell me water is wet

    2. Someone has to be the top earner. Do you want it to be someone on-air or off-air, because it can’t be neither.

Overpaid or not, at least people doing actual full work weeks are the top earners and not lads doing 2 hours Mon-Thurs and five on Fridays.

Jesus with Joe Duffy and CB gone there’s really nobody left. Kelty, Mirium, Brendan. That’s it.

You’re seeing a slow whittling down to the salary cap set by the DG. Good to see.

Look love it or hate it RTE is a big organisation. With just under 2000 staff, across multiple platforms and departments.

€350,000 for the CEO/director general while certainly a very good wage it isn’t a crazy amount.

Now yes there is a very good argument to have a firm wage ceiling for talent, and personally I can’t see the value of any talent pay over €150,000.

I’ve been saying it for years that the real earners in their are management and here we are.

There are probably a hundred or so people below that list who earn big money for doing very little and there is a desire to move a lot of people out with voluntary redundancies.

Kevin Backhurrst went in and said that there would be a salary cap and Rte committed to not paying those wages anymore. Duffy, Claire Byrne and Darcy will be gone from that list next year too, so credit to them for sticking with this.

As had been said before, someone has to be the highest earner..its either on air or off air, but it being the Director General makes sense.

Not a fan of seeing Brendan O Connor earn so much for what’s essentially 3 days work though.

    8. The only one I see deserving of their wages on that list is Darragh Maloney. Top commentator but can also flip to presenting a show and ask thorough questions.

    9. All of the management, and talent, should be on the standard civil service pay scale.

Every single one of them would still do the work for that, because its glamorous / highly in demand work. And its not poverty level wages, our civil service is reasonably paid.

BBC or CNN or anyone international else aren’t coming calling offering 500k+ pa to these people.
