Box the russians in?
Romania is a good country, and a strong allied in NATO.
The [48th Fighter Squadron](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/48th_Fighter_Squadron_(Romania)) has been active since last year, it recently got certified for taking part in NATO air policing missions.
Finally they’d be able to chase killer drone, determine it flies to Ukraine, and let it go.
Many of those will have done good service on NATO’s Northern Flank, if it is some of those Romania bought from us.
A bit of an impractical fantasy probably but I wait for the day when a pair of smoke trailing Mig-31s get intercepted by F-16s, then intercepted and handed over to F-35s, then intercepted and handed over to Eurofighters, then intercepted and handed over to Gripens, then intercepted and handed over to Rafales and in the end followed by 12 NATO jets
