Trump is an inveterate liar. I think everyone knows what’s really going on, based on most polls I’ve seen. They blame both sides according to party affiliation, but a much greater majority across the board blames Trump. People just want Congress to work together. But the voters perpetuate division themselves. Congress is just a reflection of hyper polarized nature of the constituency. But Trump could act as a mediator and a conciliator, but he won’t. In this way it is worse than the Hyde amendment, which disallowed federal funds from being used for abortion. It says if you offer it *at all, in any way, even privately paid, you may not receive federal funds.*
