California Gov. Gavin Newsom took a fresh swipe at President Donald Trump’s mental fitness on Monday, suggesting that the president’s doctors may have their own concerns.
Newsom seized on Trump’s admission Sunday evening that he’d taken an aptitude test under a doctor’s direction.

Will we have a happy Halloween? I hope so, probably not, but I really hope we all have a happy Halloween.
The MRI has me wondering. Doctors don’t do those unless there is a reason for it. Sure, the president has amazing health care, so they might do tests out of an abundance of caution, but there has to be a reason for that caution.

I love that he is challenging AOC and Crockett to take the same tests he did. I can see Crockett clapping back that she passed the “name that animal” test in kindergarten registration.

I really REALLY want AOC and Crockett take him up on that challenge.
Just to inject a note of caution here: VIP medicine does not always make medical sense. Physicians taking care of politicians don’t always order tests according to what would be considered common medical judgment. There is a huge cover your ass factor. There is a lot of pressure to overtest and overtreat in such situations. Not all physicians can withstand those pressures. Or would be willing to even put up with them.

Whereas the rest of us are hopeful.
My parents are younger (early 70s) and have definitely lost a little. My mom could live her life inside her house and be fine but I make sure we do stuff outside a few times a week so she stays accustomed to thinking on her feet. She gets a few questions in her doctors visits but hasn’t been asked to take full on cognitive tests. I wonder if she, who sometimes can’t remember which debit or credit card to use isn’t ready for cognitive testing, what Trump is not able to do and remember to be tested so often.

The fact they made him take the test is a REALLY bad sign. I remember when my elderly dad’s doctor said he should take it. And we ALL knew there were problems. The test was to set a baseline and tell us how quickly he was declining.
BINGO! There is his claim that a woman is low IQ. Would a reporter please ask him what IQ stands for and what his is?
I just watched his interview today. The decline is sharp will probably be obvious to anyone who has been around seniors with issues. He’s repeating himself more his thinking is noticeably simpler.

If you think pointing at a photo of a giraffe and identifying it as a giraffe is difficult, you might have dementia. Imagine bragging that you struggled through this challenging test – a person without dementia would never do that, but his cognition is impaired so he thinks it’s a flex.
You get an MRI for a reason.

Well, whatever the hell it is that the docs are worried about, I’m rooting for it (blood clot, clogged arteries) just wish it’d hurt tf up already.

My mother took these kind of tests when they diagnosed her dementia. You don’t „ace them“. The fact that they’re giving them to you is that they suspect cognitive decline.
