I could not find what he said specifically to trigger this response (the article went in more detail on Laura Loomer than the actual guy), but he does have a history of comments supporting terror.

“According to MEMRI, in December 2023, Hamdi called to “celebrate the victory” of October 7 and asked his audience “how many of you felt euphoria” when they heard of the Hamas onslaught in which terrorists killed some 1,200 people and took 251 hostages.”

How is this different from e.g. Australia denying visa to Candace Owens based on some “character test” and history of prior comments? Was that also a fascist move?

He isn’t a journalist, he’s an activist with somewhat vague funding sources.

      From The Independent:

      >Hamdi, who founded the outlet The International Interest and appears as a commentator on various mainstream news networks, has been a vocal critic of the Israeli war effort in Gaza. He also celebrated the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel as an important moment in the cause for Palestinian self-determination.

So much for the concept of „freedom of speech.“ So much for „due process of law.“ The US Constitution doesn’t seem to apply anymore with Trump and his people.

Critic of Israel is a benign way of describing him, I detest Laura Loomer but she’s right on this clown. He has no place in a peaceful country. He’s a vile human and should have never stepped foot in the states.

    5. Fuck this guy. There are problematic deportations happening, but this is not one of them.

    6. Has it really only been three years since Elon bought twitter? Has time started to slow down?

    7. System versus result. This guy has said genuinely unjustifiable things, so *him* being detained isn’t a horrible result. That does not make a fascist system okay. If you machine-gun a crowd indiscriminately, some of the people you hit might happen to be killers and rapists, but obviously you’re not doing a good thing. How ICE is operating is fascist, and if some of the people it blackbags are actually worthy of detainment and deportation, that’s just a side effect.

That’s not true. He was arrested by ICE, who **hasn’t made comments as to the specific reason of his arrest**.

The claim it was related to criticism of Israel comes from CAIR, a highly biased association that didn’t provide any evidence or source to that claim. Basically worthless.

Basically, the broad ICE claim that he was arrested because of him supporting terrorism (without quoting the exact event) is as credible (if not slightly more) than the CAIR claim he was arrested for criticizing Israel.

The Guardian purposefully quoting one claim in the headline and not the other is a gross and blatant violation of journalistic integrity

Yeah, we don’t need to import this shit. We have enough problems without importing more.

ICE can detain anyone they want now even citizens so don’t come here with that rah rah and think you won’t have an issue. Keep that with the Bob Vylan and Keepnap fans.
