* The dress was designed by industry icon Ruth E. Carter in various hues of vibrant purples (the color that signifies royalty) with Wakandan hieroglyphs in golden threads woven down the center and sides. Carter’s work led her to become the first Black costume designer to win an Academy Award when she took home the Oscar for *Black Panther.* She then went on to win another for *Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,* too.
