Interesting article, but I’m more excited about the John Wick Michael Caine spinoff it mentions.
At this point I would kill for a non shared universe Spider-Man, I don’t need Dr. strange, Hulk, Iron Man, alternate spider-men, or anyone else. Just give me Peter trying to balance his life with a supervillain he has a personal connection with.
Yeah look, I haven’t received a ‘no’ from Jessica Alba when I asked her out on MySpace but I’m not holding my breath.
Marvel has generally been against aging Peter Parker, resulting in some of the worst comic book stories ever told over the last 20 years now.
But Disney adults are a thing now and there’s probably a huge amount of people who would show up for a Spider-Man movie where Peter Parker is married with a kid.

As much as I would love it, as the raimi trilogy ended on kind of a somber note, I think seeing Tobey in NWH is the best end cap we’re gonna get for him. Same with Garfield’s Parker.
Honestly Spider-Dad from the latest Spiderverse movie was fucking great.
Jake Johnson killed it though so it might feel like something of a rehash with Tobey, much and all as I love Tobey’s Spider-Man.
I’ve got enough trouble trying to keep timeslines, actors, characters, and storylines straight for the franchise as is without the return of Maguire and and Kirsten. There weren’t bad (far from it, those movies made money for a reason), but let it go, please Hollywood.
