Even if Trump himself doesn’t run for a 3rd term he could still send armed and masked ICE agents to polling places in swing states and mess with the election in other ways.

Putin served two terms as Russia’s president.
His hand picked successor then ran for president, and appointed him as the prime minister. The captive Duma not only temporarily transferred most powers over to the prime minister’s office but then passed Constitutional Amendments allowing Putin to run again for president and serve additional terms.
He will never willingly leave power while he is alive.
Take that to the bank, and plan as if a certainty.
Well I actually believe him because the vice president isn’t immune to prosecution the way the Supreme Court ruled the president is, so all that crime he do would actually have consequences if he did that.

He can’t anyway. The 25th Amendment specifies that the VP needs to be spent who could become President if needed. Trump couldn’t, even though he likes to pretend otherwise.
