      USA’s biggest trade partners are Mexico, Canada, and China.

      If Trump didn’t have tariffs and trade wars with his two biggest Trade partners, Canada and Mexico, he would have a lot more leverage with China.

      People buy their toys, clothes and trinkets from China.

      People buy oil, gas, electricity, food, wood, steel, etc from canada and mexico.

      If Trump was serious about manufacturing jobs he would have tariffs on finished products and no tariffs on any raw imputs imported from canada and mexico.

      Trump’s tariffs are a mess. They are just a tax on americans with no plan or positive outcome.

      Im not sure China do tho. There economy is doing fine even with the trade war, because they develop new markets.

      Im sure China could wait until the AI bubble burst, when the US is at its weakest before making a deal. Everyone is knocking at Chinese door as an alternative to the US, why would they want the war to end? It would put the US in a stronger position against everyone else, so its going to be harder for them to refuse US deals.

      China want the best deal for themself and the worst deal between the US and everyone else.
