A geniune question, I know shit about Irish politics, but her views seem to be comfortable to Moscow at least.

Summary for those who don’t follow Irish politics much and are standard Reddit leftoids like me:
Good: she’s a progressive socialist.
Bad: she’s staunchly anti-NATO, has made comments around NATO expansion being to blame for the Ukraine war.
Good: she’s called out Israel for genocide in Gaza, and America and Trump for supporting it.
Bad: she’s not exactly pro-EU, although her anti-EU views are largely around joint security moves and increased defence spending plans, has called some leaders ‚proto-fascist warmongers‘.
Good: despite her views on Ukraine and/or NATO, she’s probably not a Russian stooge. She’s anti-war and pro-neutrality, not pro-Russia.
But none of this really matters much anyway – the Irish President is not a policy maker anyway, it’s a ceremonial role and the office of the President can (and has) been censured in the past for being overtly political.
And for those who don’t know, Ireland’s constitution can only be amended by a popular vote – which ratifying the treaties to join NATO or abandon neutrality would almost certainly require – public support for this is currently 25% at best, with 45%-50% opposed.
