I think we’d rather become some type of Puerto Rico than keep becoming Cuba

Reddit Americans mad about this, Venezuelans celebrating downfall of Maduro.

As a Marine during GWOT 08-13.. These guys are not the ones you want to see at your doorstep if America has a problem with you. I’d assume we have rangers/ SOF doing interdiction activities on the ground very very shortly if they aren’t already in place. Since Iraq 1 SOAR has put troops behind the lines before every invasion. Gulf to now.

I’d put money on a ground invasion in the next 2 months.

This “war” is turning around decades of ignorance. The left is too stupid to even raise a hand to prevent the deaths of thousands of our fellow citizens. Please open your eyes and try being a believer in the greatness of the United States.

I see the US making the same mistakes. Maduro’s replaceable, the money is not, the money feeding their loyalists is not. Another pawn gets in charge and the corruption keeps going. This will turn into a 10 year intervention involving other Latin American countries to keep the peace and institutional stability. I’m not saying it’s not worth, but bombs and chops are easy, controlling the country is not.

I love how Reddit knows the exact advanced workings of geo-politics of every country on Planet Earth.

You’ll have dudes talking about regime changes or what is best for a country they can’t even find on a map and what not when they are a cashier at Kohls or something 🤣 Then their source will be some random news article they found on Reddit.

I’m a neutral too so don’t come at me with that fascist bullshit either.

There’s a lot of people across the political spectrum in South America that will throw a party the day Maduro is no longer president of Venezuela. I just hope everyone remembers all the other times the US overthrew presidents in LatAm and what followed that.

If this spirals out of control the refugee crisis will be unmanageable.

You can think Maduro is a corrupt PoS and also think this is a really, really bad idea.

War is the ultimate distraction from what’s happening at home, so going to war was always the plan. Flood the media and further divide the people.

Hell yeah, get the trash out of our side of the world, no more tolerance for evil!

Ah yes. Because fighting in the jungle is going to go soooo well.

That tracks, Venezuela has oil and the US and Russia have been destabilizing it for years.

    14. Nobody will support this invasion. It’s hard to get international support when 9/10 countries hate USA.

I remember when I argued we weren’t like Russia at all and the comparisons were insulting.

I can’t defend us anymore. Now we’re attacking neighboring countries on a whim… because we can. You don’t want to see the largest most sophisticated military on the planet… unhinged.

On the plus side… we’ll implode and the quality of said military will plummet. As that’s what always happens in dictatorships. We’ll get brain drain and maintenance issues within the decade and the economy will collapse to the point we can’t afford to keep it up. The U.S will shrivel and die at record pace.

Learned folks know this… but MAGA made higher education out to be the boogie man.

Unless you know… we stop this fucking madness and install people who actually know wtf they’re doing. Instead of constantly cutting off our nose to spite our face.

I would be in favor of the US going in and clean out the currrent government of Venezuela and restore democracy.

Because Maduro isn’t going by himself and he rules with a iron first.

But its up to the americans to decide what they want.

    17. NA_0_10_never_forget on

For most of America’s other interventions, I can at the very least understand their arguments, even when they are flawed. But this is just re(t)garded.

    18. LeperousRed on

Anyone who thinks we can do an easy regime change in Venezuela has never googled the phrase “how large is Venezuela’s national militia?” and likely never heard of Iraq, Vietnam, or Afghanistan. Their volunteers alone are 2x the men under arms as the Taliban had at their peak, the terrain is far more hostile to American trained forces and over-engineered equipment, and they’ve had 20 years to prepare for the day that America would eventually try to militarily overthrow their Socialist government after trade embargoes and CIA coups didn’t work.

We will invade, we will kill a LOT of their leadership… and then the real war will begin, with daily TikTok updates showing American troops dying for Trump’s Exxon buddies. He’s about to destroy what little remains of his support in exchange for nothing of actual value and it’s hilarious.

    19. Won’t this embolden a country like China even further. How can you police other countries when you yourself are engaging in brazen imperialist behaviour?

Seems like we’re no longer pretending, might really does make right now.
