SS: This is an article describing the similarities and differences between Russia and Israel’s sense of isolation. Both have been described as larger powers aggressing upon smaller neighbors (Russia -> Ukraine/ Israel -> Gaza). In both Russia and Israel, there is a greater emphasis on the use of hard power to achieve foreign policy objectives, along with a siege mentality informed by generational trauma.
