      It said it was not insured; can someone tell me who would possibly insure something that is this valuable, and also culturally/historically significant? Like, it gets stolen, the louvre gets their millions… then what? What is the point? They lost the piece they were tasked to exhibit, and the historical value is lost..? What use has the million-euro payout?

      Anything can be stolen. I don’t really get it though, like without providence is any art that is world-famous worth anything? Can they still be sold in countries with criminally insane governments like Russia or something? Surely they would only be worth a tiny percentage of their legitimate price tag, outweighing the risk completely?

    4. I’m shocked they were still in France a week later.

      The smart move would have been to get on a train out of the country the day of the robbery.
