    1. Daylight Saving Time — the twice-a-year clock change — was originally introduced to make better use of daylight and save energy. The idea was simple: move the clock forward in spring and back in autumn so that people could enjoy longer evenings and use less artificial light.

Today, though, the world is split.
In the United States, some states like California and New York still change their clocks, while others such as Arizona and Hawaii don’t — arguing that the practice is outdated and confusing.

In Australia, it’s the same story: New South Wales and Victoria adjust their clocks, but Queensland and Western Australia refuse to.

Even Ukraine, despite being in wartime, continues to follow daylight saving time. However, in the Russian-occupied regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, and Crimea, the local time follows Moscow Standard Time.

    2. I’m for normal time all year ‚round. When the sun is at its highest at noon.

Parts of Australia set their clocks back 5 years.

      Talking about you Queensland.

      Australia in the summer is a joke. You’ve got gmt +11, +10.5, +10, +9.5 and+7 where 10.5 is further west than 10. 8 states/territories and 5 timezones

I will never miss a chance to downvote a World in Maps map. I have yet to see one not riddled with errors

During the colder days you get up early while it’s still dark and travel to work, when you are finally off the clock you travel back and it is already dark. This messes up the mood because it is dark, my brain just wants to wrap up the day. Life then is just work, sleep work.

Changing the clock, allowing more „light“ hours for some periods really helps with that.

For once New Zealand was there but another island is missing.

As a European, this must be how it feels to be an American and find out everyone else uses metric. Why are we (and a select few other areas) still like this??

    10. US would honestly be ‚practiced in *most* areas‘. It’s just Hawaii and most of Arizona that don’t change.

    11. Honestly daylight saving causes more problems technologically than it would to just accept obscure times of the day in the same way weeks can cross over months.

It’d be far easier if everyone used the exact same time zone. So what if the day changes halfway through your working day? You’d get used to it in the same way we are used to time systems using overly obscure units of measurement rather than uniform units of distance (e.g. 100 seconds to a minute)
