      Six Ógra Aontú members expelled and three suspended after discovery of secret WhatsApp groups containing racist and antisemitic messages.

      John Bryan, Ógra leader and aide to party head Peadar Tóibín, was among those dismissed; he later issued a public apology.

      Peter Irvine, education officer and Belfast representative, was also involved; through his solicitor, he denied holding racist or antisemitic beliefs.

      Posts included racial slurs, antisemitic conspiracy theories, and extremist imagery referencing far-right and pro-Palestinian militant symbols.

      Aontú leader Peadar Tóibín said he was “shocked and disgusted,” reaffirming the party’s zero-tolerance policy on discrimination.

      The secret chats violated Aontú’s constitution and ethos, which emphasises pluralism and equality.

      The whistleblower, a member of the group, said he was “ashamed and embarrassed” for participating, describing the chats as “indoctrination” where young members competed to post the most offensive content. He ultimately reported the group to party leadership.

      I always felt Aontú was a party with ideas from Ireland in the 50’s, turns out I was wrong, Germany in the 40’s more fitting?

      And given the party involved, I am _very_ curious, if a little presumptuous, what these scrotes‘ views on women’s health and rights would be. I suspect the content of that group is real tip-of-the-iceberg stuff.

      There is a cohort of racist voters and somebody will ultimately try and tap into that.

      I’m not fan of Aontu or Peadar Tobin but fair play to him for expelling these racist little f*x 
      I am honestly amazed that people that young actually think like this. 
      Apologies afterwards mean nothing, if they didn’t mean it they wouldn’t have written it in their secret group.

      This is Aontu, so more than likely they have a cousin, uncle, aunt or parent higher in the party.

      The terminally online youths are becoming a serious problem everywhere in the world . Their actions and beliefs seem to be hateful, spiteful and regressive-The True BrainRot . It’s easy to label them racists/ sexists etc, but i really wish we have a serious conversation about the Medium (social media ) itself being the issue.
