Indeed, which is why Trump panicked. It strike at an angle that Donald didn’t expect, and suddenly he realized that the Republican base was more open trade than the democrats one for one ver 2 decades.

It’s absolutely ridiculous that the country and political party which claims to cherish Freedom of Speech so much thinks that directly quoting a 40 year-old speech from their own President may somehow be legally actionable.

It really brings home that the current Republican party doesn’t actually have any ideology or beliefs outside of „own those libs“ and „lick Trump’s golden asshole as often as possible“. Just raging nihilism.

It’s quite amusing to say how the different NDPs have responded too. Stiles going against, while Wab siding with Ford, is bit amusing to me.

Seems to me how there needs be a more coordinated front between federal and provincial NDPs and among provincial NDPs themselves.

    4. Effective? What is the desired effect? To me it seems like money incredibly poorly spent. I genuinely don’t know what this ad is supposed to accomplish

I hate to complement Ford but this ad was indeed clever. I first heard this Reagan speech months ago and was struck by how he directly and forcefully contradicts everything Trump says about tariffs. Ford’s timing, just before the Supreme Court hearings on Tariffs, is perfect. It puts Trump in a bind. How can he denounce the words of Saint Ronny? And the more noise he makes the more attention the ad gets and he has no viable counter action.
