      Thought this part was interesting:

„Complicating and arguably contradicting things further is that one survey question asked that if money was no object and you had a free weekend to hang out with friends, “go see a new movie in theaters” was the top ranked option ahead of (2) “play a new video game,” (3) “binge a new show,” (4) “stream a new movie on my own device,” (5) “go to a music concert,” and (6) “attend a live sporting event.”“

I’m with them. Any television viewing I do is on my tablet. We haven’t even had a TV in our house for probably a decade. At this point, I just can’t imagine forcing my tv preferences on anyone else who happens to be in the room.

Broadcast television is remnant of outdated technology. The only reason why it was a thing was because it was the only way to consume media for a very long time. We’ve since moved beyond that and can now consume media at our leisure rather than needing to plan our lives around shows/movies we care about.

    4. They consume movies by watching what other YouTubes thought of the movies.

Most of them don’t watch anything. Just YouTube.

Gas pump screens can be co-opted and used to stream videos, lots of teens are hanging out at gas stations watching tv shows and movies
