Fuck Trump. I have more respect for Doug Ford and Mark Carney now more than ever. You can’t let this loser bully us anymore. He is losing support very quickly in his own country and I expect the mid-terms will be a bloodbath with the DNC winning 2028. Hopefully it is Newsom but at this point I think we’d all take anyone over the regime.
Can we just stop wasting time and effort on Trump! Whatever deal he makes, he isn’t going to honour anyway. By the time that the ink is dry on the paper, he’ll slap tariffs back on.
Interesting that Trump has been consistent for 30 years on tariffs.
If he hasn’t figured out why hes wrong since the 80s, it seems unlikely that will change in the next 3 years. Any damage to the economy can be handwaved as an adjusting period while the occasional large investment deludes him into thinking its working.
Protectionism helps specific industries at the cost of everything else. I get why normal people support it but seems like someone close to him should have been able to explain a wider view. That military protection is paid back by the fact that American controls the global trade and financial systems. That is their biggest strength, isolationism puts that at risk.
Why? Why are we wasting our time an energy? It’s pretty fucking obvious to anyone paying attention that Trump doesn’t want to give us a deal and Carney isn’t able to procure one. Cut our losses and trade elsewhere
