The German economy was literally being hold together by cheap Russian gas and boomers being overzealous in the last few years of their working life to get full pensions. I am not looking forward to what will happen in the next couple of years, especially since nobody in the gov’t seems to be preparing for it.
Why alphabetical ordering?

It’s because energy prices have to be based on the most expensive source of energy that’s currently going into the grid? Or something stupid like that?

According to this the tax on electricity in NL is £-0.0374 per kWh. It is actually £0.0888.
Is this adjusted for purchasing power parity?
TL;DR – no, only in the developed world. That should make people feel better!
For the US, it makes sense, pricing varies so much depending on area… but not having the US there is a bit of an elephant in the room for this thesis.
Oh I didn’t know my power here in the USA was free. Will someone please tell the power company so they stop billing me?
Yes, it’s the largest excluding taxes meaning not only do we pay through the nose, we are generating little to no tax revenue on it giving next to no room to make it more affordable
If you wanted us to compare data, then why arrange them alphabetically?
California US – price per kwh is $0.39834 USD.
About $0.04 per kwh cheaper in the UK, so yes they are paying a ton as well, but not the most in the world.
pretty sure my baseline rate starts at $.41/KW in CA so literally off the chart
