You have to wonder if the war games he oversaw shows the actual level of response they would see in the event it all went to shit. It is a fools game to play when everyone loses everything. There is no protecting mother Russia in a full nuclear conflict and there is no reset if it comes to that. Even if their shit works, it will be the end of them. Doing an exercise without factoring cost is like playing a hockey game with Putin. You know he is going to think he won despite no opposition.

I am an Elder Millennial — I’m old enough to remember life before the proliferation of the Internet. And, sadly, nuclear fallout preparedness drills from when I was a little kid.
This frightens me.
Nuclear weapons can’t just sit for years. Their cores degrade and they need constant maintenance that’s extremely expensive.
Now imagine a military built on corruption, and where money rolls down hill towards a weapons program that’s highly unlikely to ever actually be used. Where does that money go…?
Honestly, I’m surprised they managed to scrounge enough pieces to put an entire missile together. I suspect most of their stockpile is made of wood by now.
At this point just launch the nukes if you’re serious about it. The world is rapidly running out of fucks to give.
