This shit only works in the zero sum world of first past the post voting. Even though this strategy may be viable in this particular election that defaulted to a 2 horse race after Gavin dropped out it has consequences for future elections.
Simon Harris was decrying the US style of attacking your opponent only a few short years ago. Now, his party is fully behind that sort of election.

Considering it turned many would be Humphries voter off her, including myself, I’m gonna say it’s the last we’ll see of this US-style negative campaigning for a while.
If you look at the success of Zohran Mamdani and Zack Polanski lately, it’s clear to see that simple, plain but crucially positive and hopeful messaging is what’s going to win elections going forward.
As an American, I can confirm, you don’t want this become normalized. Your political system, and your nation as a whole will be worse off.
