I just assumed the audience didn’t know there history and just didn’t get it.

This is one of the most insanely over-written articles I’ve ever seen. It wasn’t even a shocking joke, just one that went over the heads of a lot of audience members.
I watched the clip. Plenty of laughs. One clap. This article is unnecessary.

What a drawn out article for a joke that apparently only ppl who actually paid attention in history class understood. I got it immediately reading the caption under the picture as I didn’t see the weekend update clip. This says a lot more about a lack of education than anything else which is less funny and very scary.
I didn’t realize people don’t know what the joke was about.
This was spot on comedy with a huge dose of truth in it.
For the people without any idea of recent history, it may seem like „going too far. But look at the facts:
Before WWII, Germany started SS. America started ICE.
Then Goebbels made a hero out of Horst Wessel. America has Charlie Kirk.
Germany had“ the Night of Broken Glass“ where they made the Jews the symbol of everything that was wrong in Germany… And went out to hurt them. America has the homeless and the immigrants. (I am still waiting for you to choose one.. And then really go for that..)
And in the end, the ones responsible ran to Argentina.
Great joke. Audience didn’t get the historical reference. End of article.
I’m at that point where I say F their feelings. If Trump can post AI of him dumping shit on America then I don’t want to hear it that these jokes go too far from the right.
