Was meint ihr? Welche Stadt könnte Bergen schlagen?

    1. So many cities are beautiful in its own way. What Bergen has in old wooden houses, fjords, mountains and nature, it lacks in historic grandeur from cities like Prague, Budapest and Salzburg.

When you ask here in the r/Norway sub, then everyone from Bergen would agree it’s the most beautiful city, while the rest of the country will say No out of spite or jealousy of course 😉

      „on a sunny day“
See, that’s where the problem is. It is never sunny.

More seriously though, out of the (admittedly few) „big“ cities I have been to, Bergen might be the top one.
Lugano definitely looks great too, but I have never been there myself.

No, sadly we have many recent ugly buildings and the cycling infrastructure is not the best (but not bad). It is, however, my absolute favourite city in the world.

    4. It’s definitely the most beautiful city I’ve visited. I used to think Edinburgh was, I love the stone buildings and parks but then visiting Bergen that was quickly overtaken. There are some beautiful cities in south Germany/north Switzerland too but Bergen is definitely the nicest I’ve been to. I like the size of it too, not overwhelming, but there’s plenty of culture, history, public space and amenities and you’re never too far from a hiking trail. I’ve been there twice now and can’t wait to go back again.
