If their prices were not extortionate they would see much less of this.

It’s easy when half the stations aren’t gated and they never check tickets.

Based on their extortionate train ticket prices, profit is still probably very high. Am I supposed to feel bad for these companies?

Oh no how will the shareholders or executives afford their 3rd or 4th vacation home now 😢

The trains are always absolutely filthy and always late causing me issues with commuting. The conductor rarely comes and checks so why would I buy a ticket if I know I the conductor cant even be arsed to check. No gates on any of my stops either so 🤷
More than happy to pay if the service was improved as a whole.

Wouldn’t that put their overall revenue at over a billion pounds? Isn’t that fucking crazy for a regional rail operator?

Goodness my heart is bleeding from the injustice!
Perhaps if fares were more aligned to – gosh I don’t know – Germany, france, most of Europe? – then people wouldn’t evade so much?
I can fly to Europe for less than it costs me go to 90 mins by rail across my own fucking country ffs.
They know this. They know it and they do nothing (except complain when 3.9% of people stand up to extortion).

Oh boo hoo is the company extorting its customers losing money…what a shame.

Not surprising when consequences seem to be non-existent.
I take South Western trains almost everyday for work, more than one occasion seen people jump the barriers with no repercussions, or get found with no ticket by the inspector only to walk off the train without consequence.
Once literally saw a group of teens jump the barrier, run past me onto the train I was on, thought I should say something so pointed them out to the guard only for him to shrug me off and do nothing.
