SpaceX is progressing pretty slowly relative to what everyone expected but any other option is at least 5 to 10 years behind.

I’m going to read this as, “The Trump administration wants more bribes and favors from SpaceX in order to keep funneling taxpayer dollars to them in a pointless race to return to the moon in three years.”
It’s the only interpretation that makes sense.
