That excuse that he gave his mum the money and she forgot doesn’t make any sense any more. These days you get an additional payment notice allowing you to pay up to 7 days before the court date.
That judge is a complete spoofer. Waste of time and money for everyone involved. Making a mockery of the system.
That’s a disgraceful quote from the judge! I’m going to totally disregard the law because I break it myself regularly.

Man apparently never encountered or heard of a dual carriageway before in all his years. Obviously it’s similar to a motorway, only there’s these colour-coded signs that let you know what’s a motorway and what’s not.
Not sure what I just read. Did the wazzock of a judge strike out the original speeding offence itself (for which there ought not be any mitigation) or the crime of failing to pay that fine?
Must be demoralising for the Guards too when such a blatant case like that is thrown out. Even if he was used to motorway driving, he was still in excess of that speed limit too.
He works for Daddy’s haulage company. This is a case of „affluenca“. Rich folks and their offspring don’t need to obey laws.
I think that’s fair to be honest. Most people do 110 or 120 on it anyway
So he was exceeding the speed limit for that he supposedly thought it was. He’s a professional driver, my mammy forgot to pay it for me. Judge can’t see an issue on you go and have a lovely day. Was the judge on work experience or something.
Judge seriously needs pulled up on that. Almost 30km over the speed limit and sure the mother didn’t pay the fine and sure it looks like a 120km motorway and I didn’t see the sign. Be letting everyone off if that was the case.
When judgements like this are made, is it any wonder the standards of driving in the country are where they are. All a judgement like this does is send the message that even if you are caught and go to court, it’ll get thrown out.

Surely this is some violation of powers? A Judge determines whether or not a law is broken. Not whether or not the law is real.
The joys of common law
This story makes no sense. He fails to pay the fine which should result in penalty but the just judge strikes out the whole thing? He should at least still have to pay the original fine as he was caught speeding.
