He’s a super positive guy, he’ll always give a positive optimistic answer

There’s enough material in the book to make 1 movie out of it. I’m sick of all the negativity

    3. As a massive LOTR fan I am not excited by the prospect of this one. Feels like nothing but a cash grab

Cannot wait to see this one. Cash grab or not, I loved their vision of middle earth and just want to spend more time there.

    5. If I recall about two months ago he said the royalties from LOTR isn’t actually as much as you would think.

What is this movie about? Gollum died. Is it set in the past? If so, why is Frodo in it? Is he just at the beginning and Gandalf says, „Let me tell you a tale …“

I hate this trend from Star Wars of going back in the main timeline to tell a “side story”.

There is no drama. We know what will happen. Takes all the suspense out of this.

    8. We all know this is going to fucking suck, right? Like, regardless of “the band being back together?” I’d absolutely love to be wrong, I truly hope I am, but this is for sure going to fucking suck.

The last thing “the band,” did was the third Hobbit movie and its very existence is a stain on the LOTR legacy.

But no one wants to see a whole movie about gollum though. There is so much other material they could do

He could shave and step right back into the role of Frodo. Boy don’t age

    11. Of course he said that.

Imagine he came out and was like “guys I saw the script and it is just a big stinker.”

I would prefer a shadow of Mordor adaptation before we go looking for Andy Circus lol

Not saying the movie won’t be good, but it really isn’t a story we need to tell. The LoTR is like one of, if not the penultimate trilogy humans have ever made (so far). It’s crazy how good those movies are. Then we got the Hobbit…. a book that’s like a couple hundred pages turned into 3 movies that make barely any sense and barely are even about the main character, the hobbit. The third movie is especially terrible with barely any redeeming qualities.

I just don’t think the Gollum movie will have the sauce, because it’s just hard to recapture that feeling. It was a time and place that was so perfect, lightning in a bottle originally (and they were given YEARS to plan and prep). We’ve been saturated with so much since then that it almost doesn’t matter how good or bad the movie is. It will never have the same impact. Especially because it’s a side-story where we KNOW the outcome before going in.
