Is this similar to Trump’s increased support amongst minorities before the last US election?
I see this as the potential future UK echo of the Latino vote flocking to vote for Trump in the 2024, getting him elected, but many of whom are now seriously regretting voting for and helping elect Trump… Given the ICE kidnappings of so many Latinos – quite a lot being violent kidnappings….

If Reform UK got into power British Indians would no longer be a thing. They’re on the list.
Indians are very right wing. My work has meant I’ve spoken to many and every single one has had right wing views. I guess the more surprising thing is they moved away from Tories.

Massive generalisation obviously but Modi is continuously elected. It’s not that surprising that socially conservative parties are attractive to sections of the Indian population.

Many Indian families moved to the UK back in the 60’s and 70’s. They built lives for themselves and their families with no help from the Government, No benefits and all in the face of horrific racism.
So why are they angry, because they are utterly sick of being lumped together with all other migrants because they are „brown“
Many Indians are sick of being abused because so many people just see „brown person“ so instantly presume they must be here illegally…
They want migration to be stamped down on because over the last few years they have become the target of many racist morons.

Folks, I am not agreeing with them, I am simply stating what many of them feel. I know many Indian families and the majority are very conservative.
Do I think it is wise to support a group who are literally built upon the getting votes from people who were / are supporters of the EDL and BNP, of course bloody not, unfortunately many do not see Labour as the answer and feel very let down by the Tories and Reform are very good at using this opportunity to push their brand of hateful shit.
The best way to reinstate the protections we had from 3rd country immigration was the EU. Farage convinced enough people that our wonderful, hardworking European immigrants (our friends, my wife, the nurses and doctors who save my little boy’s life – good hardworking people who were happy here and be contributing, were the enemy. When in fact they were useful members of our society. We left the EU and now we have a worrying stream of unvetted, potentially criminal folks who don’t give a shit about society. It’s a hot potato – champagne socialists want to be to be outraged by any indicatiin of policy that pushes back but nothing to actually help. It’s very easy to convince a poorly educated person that immigrants are to blame for their shit, pointless lives. Worse – there’s no useful policy comms and not much of a plan. The country isn’t basically skint because of the immigration though. It’s skint because the tories awarded themselves huge amounts of government money during covid. We’re skint because Boris Johnson and Liz Truss were a disaster.

British Indians are often quite affluent so many of them vote for lower taxes & welfare.

I’m a British Indian and I’d never vote for reform. There is a big difference between wanting to address immigration, and voting for a racist party.

So I have done a quick read through the thread and it’s the usual liberal view of the only reason Indian people vote Reform is out of ignorance and some form of white worship.
Indian and Muslim live in close proximity to each other. Leicester has 25% of each group making up the total population. This is going to lead to more interactions between the two and a lot are not posotive.
Gang have a habit of targetting other communities and ignoring this won’t make it go away.
But they are Brahmins, and that makes them equal if not above the „White British.“

Humans are all the same deep down, and that applies for the unflattering parts as well. Everyone likes to be included at the expense of someone else who is excluded. Many foreigners get a kick from jumping on the Reform wagon and getting at least nominally the acceptance and inclusion they always longed for – by bashing on other foreigners who are supposedly less valuable than they are. My guess is that they are in for a rude awakening. RUK are using them as pawns, and they will for as long as they think it is necessary.

Makes sense when you think about it. Reform is seen as the anti-Muslim party by many. Sikhs and Hindus have a certain history with Islam.
I am British Indian and associate with many other Indians, I don’t know a single person who would vote for Reform.
I also hate the term “Indian Vote”. We all have brains and our own opinions. We don’t all vote the same way.
