It bothers me that a 17 year old can murder someone, get tried as a child and then be on their merry way after a handful of years with no one knowing who they are or what they did.
Teenager or not surely anyone seeking asylum in this country who murders someone should be deported after a lengthy prison sentence.
I presume that’s the case anyway?
Deport the animal.
This is so sad. Imagine sending your child away from a war zone and then something this awful happens to them in a peaceful country.
I hope Vadym’s murderer is held to the fullest extent of the law

What actually happened that led to the fatal stabbing ?
If this country was serious , a genetic test would be carried to prove this murdered is not 17 and they would be arrested immediately for years and years and deported afterwards
Honestly frightening to imagine. The one who stabbed came here to flee and have a better life yet he stabs a boy his same age while in a facility dedicated to dedicated to their welfare? Our country is going to end up on its knees. The current situation is nowhere near where it can be, picture that.
RIP to the genuine boy in need of safety and care. Can’t even imagine how his family feel.
I almost fee ashamed of this case. Poor child flees a war zone thinking they’ll be safer in Ireland and they end up being murdered in their first couple of months here.
In regard to the Somalian refugee. Why does Europe take in Somalian refugees? This isn’t what the refugee convention was for. It’s for the first safe country.
There are neighbouring safe countries in Africa. The EU is Ukraines safe region Ireland is not somalias. We should be stricter on this.
The laws around refugees need to be updated and modernised. Im sure if there was cheap air travel in the 40’s 50s there would have been rules in place.
I’m curious to know what happened here. Everyone seems to assume that the boy who died was merely a victim and the one who was charged was the sole aggressor; but life isn’t always so simple. The details might never become public. But I want to know!
