So the more Americans and Moscow grow closer, the more Europeans and Chinese align as well. Interesting development.

this is good. We need to do business. EVERYONE is attacking Europe at the moment. We have no allies anywhere

    3. That’s such a positive step…

China has been Russia’s number one ally in it’s slaughter in Ukraine.

It’s so nice that Europe is building bridges with Russia’s ally.

I guess once all this killing men in ukraine nonsense is done with Germany can go back to buying Russian gas as well.

Boo! Boo for the CCP and its genocidal regime! We don’t want them here!

Not good at all. They still haven’t paid us back for the years of life stolen because of their virus. They are supporting (hybrid) wars against western civilization and are only looking to strike at the weakest point.

I’m really curious who headed the European team and at who’s initiative! We know Russia is infiltrating European decision groups, it’s probably high time we investigated Chinese connections!

    7. People are fucking idiots who support China. These fuckers are most genocidal country and goverment in the world. Theres no free-speech in china, you get killed for critizising the goverment. They wanna continue their cheap trade to save their asses from US tarrifs. To sell their cheap shit made by slaves to get rich from it. They are literally harrasing their neigbours like Vietnam, Taiwan and Philiphines with their militaty ships ramming into fishing boats. Sending 1000 of illegal fishing boats across world to kill coral reefs and cut underwater internet cables. They even posted proudly month ago they built anchor that cuts undersea cables.

How about we don’t ally ourselves with a dictatorship or even make comprehensive trade deals it didn’t worked last time so it won’t work now. Damn the commie larpers

We should be as cautious of China as we are of Russia. While Russia is aggressive in its political espionage, China is covert.

After all this, EU gives money/support to Ukraine?
What is our goal, do we have it at all?

    11. Reddit tankies rather do buisness with China than US just because cheetoman bad.

People in the comments need to stop jumping to conclusions. The woman on the photo is a Czech MEP, Markéta Gregorová, who’s critical of China.

She comments on her social media (instagram) that she didn’t expect much from this EU-China meeting. She asked them on their „neutrality“ and „support for Russia“ and the Chinese delegates blamed everything on NATO and EU expansion.

      She says it was worthless.

EU parliament is usually more anti-China. I don’t think there would be much agreement but I am glad the communication still happens. It’s always good to have some form of communication whatever the situation. For that matter I think you guys should set up communication channel with Russia as well. (I am Chinese)

    14. Ugh, Putin 2.0 moment.

1st we get cheap gas and oil from dictatorial oligarchs in Russia. Now we want to entangle ourselves with subsidised Chinese exports and dictatorial commies.

We should be working with counties that have a good track record when it comes to respecting human rights, rule of law, freedom of press etc.

It’s a win for the EU. US threatens us with tariffs? Might take our business elsewhere then.

The only reason to freeze relations with China is because the USA wants us to. It is of no benefit at all to the EU.

The argument that we should cut off relations because of Russia is ridiculous. It’s the opposite in fact. China is very pragmatic, and it knows that a relationship with the EU is far more beneficial to it than a relationship with Russia. If Europe opens up to it, with the condition that it abandons Russia, Russia’s main economic supplier disappears overnight.

However that is not an option for China right now, because it knows the EU isn’t a possible major partner to it because of pressure by the USA, and making such a leap would require confidence that not only has the EU thrown off the USA’s pressure enough to commit to not block off China, but that it would also continue to do so in the middle term.

I’m not saying the EU should trust China or that it should even depend on it the same way it currently depends on the USA. I’m saying it should be an independent actor with co-dependencies on a bunch of world powers so that it isn’t entirely dependent on any one of them. That’s how you get close to „independence“ in the modern world (true independence, self-sufficiency without foreign trade, is practically impossible, just look at North Korea which keeps trying and has recurring famines every few decades).

    17. Trump should get Nobel Peace prize.
After all, he achieved unthinkable – united the whole world. Everybody is suddenly BFF, when other alternative is Trump

    18. Comments here now are the same when Russia and the EU announced closer relationships in the 2000s and 2010s. „We should do business with everyone“, „Russia is a friend“, „The evil USA hinders Europe from branching out“. It’s like we learned nothing from collaborating with authoritarian dictatorships that only want more and more power.

As they should meet, China owns a lot of property in Europe and are buying more every day. They need to get rid of what’s left of the manufacturing sector in Europe. With tariffs, China also needs new markets for dumping cheap goods. Call me cynical or whatever, downvote all you want, but this will make China richer and Europe poorer. China is out for China. They will not defend democracy. Their support of Russia in Ukraine should be ringing alarm bells.

The US is becoming a dictatorship, but China is already one. Xi stopped the process of passing on the leadership to a new man from the Central Committee. He appears to be dictator for life. Exactly what Putin did, because Russia also had term limitations.

With only 1 women between all the men..

Yes, this is a landmark but there is still a long way to go.
