Notice the complete absence of Gen Z in world leaders, despite a fair amount of Gen Z being adults now.

Does anyone know who was the last Greatest Generation one? My guess is Elizabeth II (so in 2022), but not sure if you’re going by head of state or head of government in this post (or maybe by whoever holds the most real power).

Poland (Nawrocki), Romania (Dan), and Bulgaria (Zhelyazkov) are wrong. They are all GenX.

This is wrong for Romania. President born in ‘69.
Either way, the idea that “Baby boomer” as a generation works for the rest of the world outside western countries is very ignorant of how people in other cultures developed and those culture’s dynamics at the time.

Using American terms for people born in those decades for a world map is wild

That’s assuming every country has the same generations as the US

I don’t think that using heads of state for constitutional monarchies or republics with ceremonial figurehead presidents is the best choice for the map.
Because then it doesn’t say much of anything about where actual real political power lies.

Due to economics and advances in health care, boomers have held onto power longer than any generation and we won’t be free of them until they’re literally all dead. The first boomer president, Bill Clinton, was elected in 1992. In the nine presidential terms since, only two were a non Boomer (Obama). This is unprecedented in American history.

These generational concepts make no sense outside the US, and when talking about Latin America, Africa, and Asia, they are completely alien concepts.

We live in a very boomer-centric world.
