15 years is an insult to the poor man’s family and friends.
They’ll be out in well under 10 years Id imagine, bringing horror and torture to some other poor soul, absolutely grim.

106 previous convictions. If our justice system was serious, these people would have been locked up and they wouldn’t have been able to subject that old man to their savage brutality. Just more failure of the soft touch approach.

fucking scum, I see one of the scum had previous for attacking old people living on their own. This pieces of shit should be locked away for whole of life. The government wouldnt have the balls to put it to a referendum that if you have x number of violent offences against ordinary citizens you go into prison for life.

There aren’t many cases where three life sentences are deserved, but this should have been an example…absolute animals!
Tom lived in a gorgeous rural part of the world with the Atlantic Ocean less than a mile below him. He lived & farmed by the routine of the seasons.
The violence inflicted on him shattered any preconceptions that humans can ever be trusted. These scum came from up the road in Mayo. Hopefully prison finds revenge, a hollow emotion but these bastards deserve it.

Not enough they deserve to rot. Hardman or whatever the fuck he’s called was not long out of prison already when this happened. All of them absolute scum of the earth. Including the factors related to their upbringing and all that shite is ridiculous. They knew exactly what they were doing but didn’t expect Tom to fight back.
I can’t say I knew Tom but the thoughts of him dragging himself half conscious to raise the alarm makes me sick.
