If I threatened unprovoked assault in front of witnesses and then bragged about it, I might expect a visit from the police.
Also in my opinion the story is complete bullshit. If the security guard refused to follow the manager is not going to go out and join the confrontation between 2 random strangers
Did this even happen? Or did it go down the way Ford said it did? I get a sense that he’s flexing his law and order cred to deflect from the deteriorating economy and all the scandals.
With the proliferation of security cameras it’s plausible that this alleged interaction was recorded.
This is why the NDP is so ineffective: people, especially working people who follow the rules, don’t like shoplifters and get frustrated when they see people blatantly swiping stuff from Home Depot or the liquor store and going completely unpunished when they’re barely making ends meet following the rules. Threatening to kick someone’s ass doesn’t make you „batman“, it makes you look like someone who cares about respecting the rules.
