Russia is literally invading a European country right now, so no shit Europe is militarizing for a potential conflict

Catherine Kremlin Connolly tells us we shouldn’t defend ourselves

Yes please. We need our own military, we’re far too reliant on the US. They’re head cases over there, we can’t rely on them any more

Good on her for bringing up some uncomfortable truths. Germany has sent over half a billion euro worth of weapons to Israel since November 2023 which have been used to commit genocide.
If your economy is increasingly reliant on militarisation then the weapons have to go somewhere.

Of course Europe is militarising, it’s because they had demilitarised way to much in the 90’ and now they are left vulnerable and unable to defend themselves.

Forget Syria, we should fund a trip to the eastern countries of the EU, see how Connolly gets on wittering about „militarisation“ to the faces of those living with Russia on their border; something tells me this worrying doesn’t curry as much notice in the likes of Finland, Estonia, Poland and other countries with intimate history of Russia’s appetites.
Easy to be moral when for most of our history nobody has had any interest in us, bar one neighbour who took us over 800 years prior and that was that. The various Slavic nations would have words.

Why does Catherine Connelly want Europe to have no back up plan incase the Russians just decide to invade the Baltics? Why does she want Europe to be completely unprepared? What if strongly worded letters don’t work, Catherine?

Catherine Connelly wants Europe to be defenceless and just a sitting duck hoping for the best.

Every time she opens her mouth she looks dumber. Catherine the only danger here are Russian mouthpiece politicians, just saying.

Maybe instead of going to Syria she should come and visit countries bordering Russia and try to understand why they asked to join NATO and why they’re increasing defense budgets.

See I like her, I like her morals, but when it comes to real life defence thinking she hasnt got a clue and has this odd idea that if a nation becomes defenceless others won’t attack. You can be as pacifist as you like, Russia will happily invade you. To be neutral you have to be strong.

She is nothing but a Russian pawn. We have two absolute terrible candidates.

It’s comments like this that makes her seem like she genuinely is unable to grasp what’s actually happening in Europe and the real threat that exists on a near and wider geopolitical scale.
