I’m a non-practicing Catholic. When I was born, Pope John Paul II was already the Pope I was born in 1985, and when he passed away, I was 20 years old. Although I haven’t gone to church in many years, I’ve always seen John Paul II as a saint. The strong connection he had with Portugal, especially with the Sanctuary of Fátima, left a deep mark on our people. To me, he will always be the ideal Pope.
