That’s not good at all, since meddling during an election is a most foul felony.
I think the Netherlands should start ban that sh*t until solid decision at EU level are taken.
Then ban those who don’t show up and call it a day?
Their algorithms are polarizing content and dividing people, destroying democracies and promoting anti-intellectualism.
How can they defend that ? They prefer to dodge and to pay lobbyists, simply.
That is shady as hell. In other words we have to assume foreign actors does in fact meddle in the Dutch election, in this case USA, inwich is supposed to be an „ally“. This should prioritised on European level over Chatcontrol. This is huge security risk.
We have local elections in Denmark soon, so this is mildly terrifying(although PET and FET already warned about American interference in about Greenlandian affairs).
Should be banned in NL then as a threat to democracy, simple as.

Didn’t they only gave barely a week notice to these companies? Common courtesy is two weeks. Expecting a response is reasonable but the invitation should also be reasonable.

Sure they can send some low-level employee but then this MP will get insulted that they sent a low-level employee. If you want an exec, they’d have to wait. I’d have to wait if I want to meet with my MP because they’re busy.
Ban that shit, we have eu social media that can replace them
Not a fan of big tech but even less a fan of governments trying to tell us what we can and cannot say on social media. So also keep fighting against „chat control“ which the EU wants to implement to scan all your messages on your phone to create a surveillance state.
