I don’t think they need threats of fines, go for carrot over stick. Basically at a vet’s if a cat is found unchipped the owner will have to just get it done (I think in total when our kitten got registered, checked, chipped and some other stuff done – £50?) and they are given 21 days grace even then. Maybe some free men of the land weirdos will refuse and end up fined I guess.

The biggest wild animal killer in UK finally will have some forms of regulations? Impossible

Typical government, forcing our feline friends to be microchipped so that when they activate their death signal through 5g towers and our smart meters, Elon Musk and Bill Gates can listen to our conversations when plotting against the massive flat earth covid cover up revolution.
We. Will. Resist.

“Is this your cat sir?”
“Maybe… what’s the chip say?”
“Ohh… no chip. We have to fine the owner £500. Is this your cat sir?”
“…..”
The sort of people who never chip their cats are the sort of people who would happily get a new kitten over paying £500 to claim an impounded cat.

Any means to apply more financial pressure and bleed us of more money… This is a perfect example of one of the hundred thousand ways, they tax us, to make up for the lack of tax/monies the elite pay into our system.. Although, its not officially a tax, it’s still taxing on us.. And it’s bullshit. The whole things a rich man’s racket, that we fund…

Ahhhh they old fine…fines are only a punishment if you are poor.

How are they going to enforce this? The kind of person who can’t be arsed to get their cat chipped will just disown the cat rather than pay a £500 fine. That’s sort of the point with unchipped cats, you can’t prove whose it is.

If I’m getting the cat chipped I’ll get him lowered at the same time

All the cats we have had, have been chipped free of charge by the Cats Protection League. Cant see what the problem is.
Infact the vet we took them to, will check the chip before signing them on to their practice

Meaningless for older cats or ones that hang around the house all day. Useful for young ones or ones that go exploring, though.
Useful to consider if moving home and worried they might panic, run away.
